Three suspects will appear in court after they were caught tampering with electricity infrastructure belonging to the City in Elsburg.
On Monday, 14 June 2021, the anti-cable theft spotted three men tempering with a mini substation next to Brug and Van Reebeck road in Elsburg.
The men were arrested on the spot. It is suspected that they were trying to connect to the electricity grid of the City using illegal means.
Illegal connections are deemed to be the main cause of infrastructural damage and prolonged power outages in the City.
