Township Parents attend Maths lessons

“Our team has been blessed to work with parents who attend our master-classes; the primary objective of our classes is to equip parents with the necessary mathematical tools, so that they can easily help-out their children in their households with homeworks.”

The WeSolve4X tutoring initiative has reached 3500 learners in Ekuhurleni this year alone, and it seeks to help in elevating the pass rate in township schools.

While the learners attend our Saturday classes, their parents also participate in our masterclasses to facilitate the learning process at home. Their attendance shows their dedication towards their children’s education.

Learners and parents can attend lessons for free, however they have an option of purchasing a grocery hamper with basic food items amounting to R250. We at WeSolve4X believe that you cannot educate children without, tackling some of the societal ills that trouble the community such as poverty.

The Wesolve4x approach is based on the following model: Maths plus, Parents minus Hunger equals to success, (Maths + Parents-Hunger = Success).

We also believe that parental involvement is crucial when coming to academic performance, which is why we have designed an initiative that encourages parents to understand the Curriculum and the South African Schools Act No. 84 OF 1996. The programme is based on a three-step approach that covers the topics, navigating the textbook and encouraging the learner to practice.

WeSolve4X intends to extend this initiative to other schools in Gauteng and the rest of South Africa that need extra support in form of maths tutorials. The aim is to help learners from underserved communities excel in maths, while inspiring them to be innovative thinkers.
