The driver of a big truck got badly hurt when it flipped over on M2 Eastbound N3 Split near Geldenhuys interchange. The City of Ekurhuleni’s rescue team rushed to the scene from Germiston. The truck was carrying polystyrene, and it made a mess, blocking two freeway lanes.
Paramedics took care of the truck driver’s serious injuries on the spot before taking them to the nearest hospital. Sadly, another guy was found under the scattered stuff and was declared dead right there.
The emergency call came in at 12:28 midday today (Thursday 18th January 2024). Everyone involved is working on cleaning up and fixing things. EMPD officers are still investigating.
