uMkhonto WeSizwe Emerges

As the election season gears up, a surge in registered political parties takes center stage. Among them is uMkhonto WeSizwe, led by former ANC and South African President Jacob Zuma, rapidly gaining traction. Their strategic December unveiling hints at a well-calculated move, drawing in scores of supporters, especially from the Watville Actonville area, to register and engage with the party’s regional representatives.

During a recent gathering, Monko Mlangeni, the regional coordinator for Ekurhuleni, expressed his commitment to uMkhonto WeSizwe’s success in the upcoming elections. “As the regional coordinator of Mkhonto WeSizwe Ekurhuleni, it’s my responsibility to ensure our victory in the elections, and we will do just that,” he emphasized. Touching upon the leader’s image tarnished by the apartheid government, Mlangeni added, “They tried to paint our leader in a negative light, but we’re here to reclaim power from the ANC and defend our liberation legacy.”

Amidst concerns for community safety, Zama Zwane, a public relations specialist from the security company LMDK, highlighted their role in maintaining peace. “We prioritize community safety, especially during politically charged events. Our goal is to manage any disturbances and ensure our community remains secure,” Zwane affirmed.

The gathering attracted new members and featured the distribution of membership forms. Additionally, the group paid homage to a fallen hero at Tambo Memorial, further solidifying their presence and values within the community. As uMkhonto WeSizwe rapidly expands its reach, the political landscape seems set for an intriguing evolution in the upcoming year.
