On Saturday (21 Nov) in Vosloorus area during the crime prevention operation and high visibility with other Law Enforcers, the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) Specialized Task Team Members, arrested a male suspect and an unlicensed firearm with ammunition, was confiscated.
At 11:30, the suspicious 43-year old male cornered on Khoza street, was approached and frisked where the EMPD crime fighting Team uncovered a 9mm Glock pistol with serial numbers tempered with, a magazine and 10x live rounds. The lawbreaker facing charges of, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition, was escorted to Vosloorus police station. As he was being processed at the charge office, EMPD Officer learned that not long, he was arrested for the similar offence. It is not clear at this stage, if he was granted bail then and the South African Police Service (SAPS) Detectives Unit Members, are investigating further.
The detained offender, is expected to appear at the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court soon.
