WAR ON POTHOLES IS CLEARING POTHOLES BACKLOG

The City of Ekurhuleni MMC for Roads and Stormwater Alderman Alco Ngobese has praised city officials for clearing 65% of the potholes backlog in the city since the inception of the War on Potholes campaign. MMC Ngobese was speaking in Kempton Park on 8 July where he was participating in the campaign to patch potholes. The campaign is part of the Back-to-Basics programme that seeks to enhance service delivery in the city.

So far, about 5 200m2 of potholes have been patched.

“We currently have personnel on the ground attending to potholes across the city. The campaign has gained momentum, thanks to the financial injection of R 285million for pothole repairs.  While we have identified the roads the team will target, we also urge residents to report potholes in their areas,” MMC for Roads and Stormwater Alderman Alco Ngobese said.

The Ald. Ngobese further requested motorists to be patient where they encounter city officials working on the roads to patch potholes.
