As means to start engaging with the media for Women’s month, CFAO Equipment hosted its first-ever women in material handling roundtable on July 28, 2022, in Germiston.
The programme focused on the role women play within the Material Handling Industry. The event compromised of three spokespeople from the CFAO Equipment SA: namely Tammy Rosse, Vuyokazi Bangazi, and Sonia Pretorius.
CFAO Equipment SA is a leading supplier of material handling and industrial equipment from respected international manufacturers. It provides customers with a total solution and lifetime value.
As an opening statement, Tammy Rosse the chief financial officer of CFAO Equipment SA stated that their vision is to be the market leader in supplying industrial equipment in their chosen world market, creating prosperity for and exceeding the expectations of their customers, stakeholders, and their people.
“The number of women in the industry is increasing, 36% of managers are female in the company. This is an increase of 22% from 2017 in an industrial environment. The focus is on African Female Managers driven through their recruitment program,” said Rosse.
Vuyokazi Bangazi, the National Sales Manager for Toyota Industrial Equipment mentioned that they focus on placing consistent stock orders of fast-moving units and sell equipment on a fixed price basis and they do not compromise on the quality campaign.
To keep their staff developed they stick to the culture of the sales team, the one key area focus that will contribute to successful sales performance.
“We aim to have a diverse and highly skilled team to drive the 2025 strategy. Transformation of the team will drive success in the market and cater to all segments (whether corporate, small, or medium business),’ stated Bangazi.
As an experienced woman in the industry, Bangazi holds 19 years of experience within the material handling industry with a Bcom Accounting qualification. Throughout her career, she has attained many achievements as a female in what is often deemed as a male-dominated industry.
Sonia Pretorius is a performance-driven, National sales manager acknowledged for her cementing client relationship, stimulating new business, and strategically securing accounts in highly competitive sectors.
Pretorius touched on the importance of waste management and how 600SA assists in making sure that all municipalities stay in a healthy environment.
She explained that 600SA is a material handling and industrial equipment supplier, its business activities include the importation, manufacture, and distribution of vehicle utilization equipment, forestry, and waste equipment.
