Inkabi Records & Goldex Events Lights Up Emperor’s Palace with an Unforgettable Family & Friends Day Picnic

By Sibusiso Khanye

Emperor’s Palace Park was buzzing this past Saturday, 29 March, as Inkabi Records and Goldex Events pulled off a proper “Family and Friends Day Picnic” that’ll have people talking for ages. Packed with killer tunes, yummy eats, and good vibes, the sold-out event had families like Karabo Mofokeng’s crew commenting on how the event was just on another level.

The day kicked off with big-name artists, like Mlindo the Vocalist, who had everyone screaming for more hits of “AmaBlesser” and “Wamuhle”. “Mlindo didn’t just sing, he owned the place!” mentioned Karabo, who dragged her whole family of five after spotting a poster. From the gate, things ran smooth solid security, no stress, just pure fun.

Oscar Mbo kept feet moving, and Smamane dropped bars that left fans shocked. The crowd also went wild for killer sets from K.O, Maliaka, Black Diamond, and Aymos, while Big Zulu and the Inkabi squad – Xolwa, Siya Ntuli, Musiholiq, Mduduzi Ncube, and Lwah Ndlunkulu – brought that raw SA flavour, reminding everyone why they’re legends.

Families chilled on blankets, kids danced like nobody was watching, and friends clinked drinks under the Jozi sky. “We came for the music, but the vibe hooked us,” said one happy reveller. “This is how you do community.”

Karabo loved how the day mixed hype with chill: “The music, the vibe and seeing everyone young, old, strangers just happy… perfection.” By sunset, the only question was: “When is the next one”

This collab between Inkabi Records and Goldex Events proved music + family = pure magic. As crowds headed home, humming tracks and swapping stories, one thing was clear: Emperor’s Palace better clear its calendar for the next one!

Big up to the organizers and every behind the scenes hero for pulling off a day where even the small things like security and sound shone. Missed this one? Don’t sleep on the next!
