The 3rd Annual Engage Your Future Today event, held in Tsakane, brought together young people from KwaThema and Duduza for a transformative day of learning, empowerment, and inspiration. Hosted by the Kwatsaduza Youth Development Organization, the event drew together entrepreneurs, young leaders, and aspiring innovators eager to gain wisdom from trailblazers and industry leaders shaping their own paths to success.
Mr. Zibusiso Mkhwanazi, Founder and Executive Chairman of M&N; Brands, delivered one of the day’s most powerful addresses. He shared his inspiring journey of faith and resilience — making his first million at just 21, losing it all by 23, and rebuilding through purpose and determination. Now at 41, Mr. Mkhwanazi is valued at over half a billion rand, with a bold mission to reach R1 billion within the next
decade.
“When you are given chores, get them done. Your parents are teaching you what’s necessary for your future,” said Mkhwanazi, inspiring attendees to build discipline and vision early in life. During an interactive Q&A; session, he awarded a signed copy of his best-selling book to Siyabonga, who posed the most thought-provoking question. His story served as a reminder that success is not achieved overnight but through persistence and faith.
Mr. Mike Chauke from FinFind led a session on financial readiness and access to funding for entrepreneurs. He likened FinFind to a “dating app for entrepreneurs,” explaining that the platform connects small businesses with funders that best fit their profiles. Chauke emphasized that funding potential begins with financial responsibility, encouraging young entrepreneurs to manage their finances wisely and pay accounts on time. In recognition of their continued work to empower small and medium enterprises, FinFind was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation.
A highlight of the day was the panel discussion, moderated by Kwatsaduza Youth Development Co-Founder, Ora Mariri, which brought together industry professionals who challenged the youth to dream bigger, think critically, and take action.
