On the early hours of the morning of the 14th of November 2025, four members of the Tsakane Trio Task Team (Crime Prevention Unit) received information regarding the whereabouts of a suspect who was involved in a house robbery case in Tsakane, within the month of September 2025. A white Hyundai Grand i20 was also stolen during the house robbery.
The suspect was brought to Tsakane police station for questioning where he mentioned where he sold the vehicle. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the accused was part of the suspects who hijacked a blue Hyundai Grand i10 after they shot and killed a Detective belonging to the Police Force, Constable Hlatshwayo. The suspect led the team to Mshayazafe Hostel located in Thokoza, where four more suspects were found in possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol with one magazine and 20 live rounds of ammunition.
Moreover, it was discovered that one of the four suspects was a wanted man for a Warrant of Arrest regarding the murder of a police officer who was killed in Dawn Park, Boksburg.
The four suspects furthermore led the team to Basuthwini Hostel in Vosloorus where eight other suspects were found in possession of three unlicensed firearms and a number of R5 rounds of live ammunition. The suspects additionally were in possession of a stolen vehicle that was hijacked in Katlehong, around the month of September 2025. The suspects concluded by leading the team to Duduza where another suspect was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm fully loaded with 18 rounds of live ammunition. All suspects were arrested.
