Mall of Thembisa, in partnership with Run Midrand, hosted their 2nd Family Fun Day at entrance 1, in front of the Kasi CoLAB on Sunday 2 May.
“The event aims to raise brand awareness and promote Thembisa-based entrepreneurs,” stated the marketing manager.
“Our main objectives are to bring feet to the mall to increase tenant sales, to promote talent and to grow small business while providing an entertaining, comfortable environment for our customers”. The Mall has hosted two events thus far, the first of which was hosted on 28 March.
“We are encouraging community members to attend and would like to call on small business owners and entrepreneurs to join us by hosting a stall at the next Fun Day. To apply for a stall, customers can visit the Centre management Office and collect a participation form. We provide exhibitors with electricity and a 10sqm,” said Mfunekwa.
When the CEO and founder of Run Midrand, Lebogang Chiloane, was interviewed about the function, he said, “Mall of Thembisa and Run Midrand partnered in this event in order to bring customers to the mall. Run Midrand is stocked at the Kasi CoLAB and we have definitely seen an increase in new customers to the store as result of the Fun Day. The event has played a significant role in enabling me to advertise my business,” he confirmed.
Metja Mpai, one of the attendees of the function which took place on Sunday, says: “I brought my family to the ‘Family Fun Day’, it’s a good environment for parents to bond with their kids, it is entertaining. I have been to events held in other malls but this one had a great vibe.”
A pianist (Tshegofatso Mokgetlwane) of the Soul Affecters’ band which performed in the event also shared his experience saying, “we came to entertain the families that are here at this event, it was a great event that enabled us to interact with our fans.”
