Mdladla MO Brings the Heat with BRIYANI, Daveyton’s Bold New Sound

Sandile Ngobeni, better known as Mdladla MO, is not just an artist, he’s a cultural force from Daveyton making major waves in the music scene. As a rapper, vocalist, performer, brand ambassador, and creative visionary, Mdladla MO brings a fresh, kasi-rooted sound called BRIYANI, a unique blend of Amapiano, Kwaito, Hip Hop, Afro House, and Afro Punk.

“Amapiano is our culture, BRIYANI is our heritage,” he says. “We celebrate the way aboMdladla celebrate. My supporters aren’t fans, they are family. We relate through this dream and the sound of BRIYANI, which mixes different sounds from different generations and backgrounds.”

His debut single “MOSHA”, featuring Mashesha and Zyda, introduced this energetic sound to the streets and radio stations. It quickly gained traction, turning heads with its unmatched energy and originality. “Normally they wouldn’t match, but we make them match,” he adds. “BRIYANI was cooked in Daveyton, and it’s influencing the whole country, even abroad.”

Mdladla MO’s journey didn’t begin here. He started his career creating soundtracks for TV dramas like Yizo Yizo 3 and Zone 14 with the Ndrebele Civilizations. Over time, he expanded his influence as a voiceover artist on VUTTA FM, a radio and TV presenter, comedian, actor, and live performer. His work has reached platforms like Ikwekwezi FM, Ukhozi FM, Metro FM, Lesedi FM, YFM, Igagasi FM, and 5FM.

“I come from the old ages and I’ve worked with legends in the game. In my hood, many are coming up hit after hit,” he explains. “Power Circle Media Group is the body governor of the brand’s musical direction and I’m working with Mapholisha on all final production of my current records.”

This includes the chart-topping single “Zinyanya Zami”, a collaboration with Mapholisha, Swerve SA, Zweli, and D Man D. The track is dominating radio charts and digital platforms, with a music video soon to hit TV screens. The release is backed by Power Circle Media, Justeve Media, Impact Communications, Okhehla Africa Media Group, and Ejahardini Brandings.

“We sing what we live,” says Mdladla MO. “We take our personal experiences and sing about them bluntly while making you dance. That’s what BRIYANI is about.”

In 2023, Mdladla MO made a powerful comeback with his EP “Impilo YePiano”, where he showcases both his lyrical and vocal skills. The project mixes deep messages with catchy hooks, all while staying true to his kasi background and proudly South African identity.

Mdladla MO doesn’t just create music, he creates movements. His social media is filled with dance challenges, movie scene re-enactments, and comedic moments that keep his audience connected, entertained, and inspired.
