Miss Face of Daveyton Ambassador aims to inspire

Born and raised in Daveyton is the young enthusiastic and career-driven model, Angel Mokoena who has recently scored herself the title of Miss Face of Daveyton Ambassador 2022. The crowning ceremony of Miss Face of Daveyton was held at Pedro’s restaurant in Daveyton mall where the ambitious Mokoena was given the title.

Mokoena is part of a movement called East Rand Classic that deals with teaching individuals different types of modelling pageantry, runaway, and advertising campaigns, under the leadership of Thabang Sibeko (ModelThashAfrica).

The focused 22-year old is not all about pageantry but also a student at the Tshwane University of Technology where she does teaching, focusing on children with special needs, also she is a helping hand at the kid of salvation modelling agency, where she teaches kids about modelling and how to build their characters.

“I want to focus more on children with autism spectrum disorders because I find them unique and interesting to deal with. I always had an interest in mental health and was always against labelling people crazy. The efforts that I make at the kid of salvation comes with keeping the children away from the streets and the pressure that comes with growing up,” said Mokoena.

Mokoena told Ekurhuleni News how she used modelling to overcome her fears.

“I saw modelling as a way to get over my shyness and I must say that I am still shy and get scared when I am on the stage of which it is normal, however, I do enjoy modelling,” she noted.

She further said modelling gives her a sense of freedom, the fact that she can be on stage without limitations makes her crave for more.

Mokoena started modelling in 2019 where she entered Miss Daveyton and won Miss Personality. She then headed to Miss Mayfield where she was a runner in the finals both in 2020 and 2021.

“Later last year I entered for Miss Face of Daveyton and I must say it was a long and interesting journey. We were expected to perform duties and learn to share motivations and scriptures every day so we can help each other grow spiritually,”

“For me, the title means I am ready to lead, inspire, and also be a role model. I want to fulfil my duties and continue being an influencer of change,” she added. The young model has entered Miss Youth National Gauteng 2022 and she is hoping for the best. She believes that she is the next Miss Universe.
