MMC for Energy, Cllr Mzayifani Ngwenya, visited the 2nd Input Substation in #Wadeville following the fire incident that occurred last week. During the visit, the MMC expressed heartfelt appreciation to the City’s technicians and technical teams who have been working tirelessly on site to restore electricity supply within the communicated timeframes.
As of now, 95% of affected customers have been fully restored, with the remaining areas being restored gradually as work continues. Ongoing monitoring is taking place to ensure the stability and performance of the grid after the extensive repair work carried out.
MMC Ngwenya thanked residents and businesses for their patience and understanding during this challenging period. Customers who are still without electricity are encouraged to log a fault by tomorrow, Wednesday 11 February, so that urgent assistance can be provided.
The City remains committed to restoring full supply safely and efficiently and appreciates the cooperation of all customers as work continues.
