On 2025-09-29 a serious crime was committed along Mofokeng street Sotho Section Vosloorus whereby the deceased was attacked with a hammer at a Spaza Shop until she passed on.
The scene was condoned off and investigation began immediately leading to the arrest of Thapelo Mokoena(25yrs) and recovery of the murder weapon.
The suspect appeared several times at Vosloorus Regional Court until he was found guilty on 2025-11-07 and sentenced to 25 years direct imprisonment (life). He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
The investigation was led by Sgt Zama Shabangu who’s dedication secured the life sentence for her team.
The Station Commander of Vosloorus SAPS Brigadier L N Thethe thanked all the members involved and appreciated the efforts and the hard work.
