Ntokozo Cindi, alias Certified Fiveowwone, (21), is an Amapiano, Afro beat and hip-hop songwriter. The talented music star recently released a song titled “MAMA” with hip-hop G.O.A.T (God of all time-as millennials would say), alluding that he is legendary.
Born and bred in Soweto, the star was raised by his great grandmother after losing his mom at a young age. His love for music started at a young age. The young man got discouraged by his peers at school when no one believed in his talent. However, that did not stop him believing in himself. Essentially, that pushed him to get bigger at his dream of becoming a great musician. At only grade five (5), Cindi started writing his music. His music career started in 2021 when he was just seventeen (17) years old. At that age, he was able to write songs, attend studio sessions and collaborate with other artists.
The young man has a string of achievements under his belt as he was able to attain a lot in his early journey. His achievements were closer to his dream goal and vision on working with high profile musicians. He worked and released a song with Emtee. He also worked with Just G ATM and shared a stage with the euphonious songbird, Mawhoo. Cindi has previously had studio sessions with powerhouse singer and songwriter, Mduduzi Ncube. One of his biggest achievement was seeing his songs playing on Channel O and Trace Africa.
As an Amapiano, Afrobeat and Hip-Hop artist, Cindi uses original soundtracks and receives influence from working with his producers and other musicians. His most notable song is “Sgidla Vah”, which was released in 2023 in all digital music platforms.
The artist also has a single titled “MAMA ” featuring renowned rapper, Emtee. His impact in music is that he has switched the game by doing the most unique style of blending all genres. Cindi trusts that his music changed a lot of lives within communities as well as fans in making them believe in themselves and heal lost souls by bringing hope to the hopeless. “I’m excited to announce that there’s a project I’m working on with Likamuva Entertainment. It has been a good journey working with them since I’m learning how to work with a team in a professional manner. This helps me grow in the industry. My future plans is to someday have my own record label and flood the world with his music.
There are upcoming singles, albums and collaborations to say the least. In this industry, it’s important to be organic and creative. With me, it starts with a spark of inspiration maybe from a lyric,” blissfully uttered the artist. He furthermore expressed that he loves experimenting with different sounds and style techniques to find the right balance for each song. He draws inspiration from life experiences, different cultures, great artists and extraordinary genres.
The one obstacle Cindi shared is the ability to stay true to his artistic vision while also resonating with his audience. The star added by stating that establishing a balance can be difficult, however, focusing on the joy of creating and sharing good music is his passion. The talented musician has been fortunate enough to make a career out of sharing his voice and perspective through music. He attests that his contribution to the music industry is pushing boundaries and creating songs that connect with people. His enduring impact will be measured by the lives he touched, the emotions he evoked and the memories he helped create.
