“My desire is to show my greatest talent” says a female athlete

Many sports fans argue that sporting codes that are played by women are boring compared to those which are played by men. It is also simultaneously proven that women sports games are not broadcasted at the same level as men sports games in the media.

Hadefeli Lettie Matlaping (22) from Katlehong Moshoeshoe section completed her secondary school at Lethukuthula and is now studying at Ekurhuleni west college (TVET).

Hadefeli has always been passionate about being an athlete and over the years she has shown enthusiasm with the talent that God has blessed her with. She challenges herself to face her fears every single day and she trusts her athletic ability.

“The most important thing is to have self-belief and positive self-esteem. My passion is to show my greatest talent to the world while possessing the desire to achieve it. I listen to my inner self to avoid laziness as I pursue my goal. I train hard to achieve more and make my dreams come true,” Uttered Lettie.

She adds that she is realistic, courageous and she is inclined to know more. She also has a burning desire to follow her goal and becoming the next best female athlete in South Africa.

“I have a positive mind and attitude and most importantly I show it by being 80% disciplined and 20% respectful. I am a dreamer, a winner and I will never give up until I reach my goal,” concludes Lettie.
