Making education fashionable in the community by creating a platform where learners and tutors have a positive relationship for effective teaching and learning, was the drive for the Kwa-Thema graduate Thabiso Mathibela in establishing his own tutoring company that has helped many school learners.
Mathibela didn’t have it easy during his school days as he was identified as a slow learner by his primary school teacher. His parents became a pillar to him as they worked towards improving his grades and offering the needed support.
Mathibela founded Beyond Limit Tutoring with the sole purpose of helping high school learners to improve their grades.“I know the pain of struggling and being diagnosed informally by teachers. They failed to understand that I needed more support than what I was getting,”
“If it wasn’t for my parents, maybe I might have amounted to nothing,” he said.
The company consists of seven dedicated tutors who are all working towards the same vision of seeing the majority of matriculants making it to higher institutions by getting academic assistance from them.
The facility offers tutoring lessons in mathematics, maths lit, physical science, life sciences, English, accounting, history, and geography.
“Our target market is learners in these crucial grades because they need to get regular career counselling and strong mentorships since there are many difficulties in FET and pressure on educators,” explained Mathibela.
Through his hard work, Mathibela holds a B. Ed. Degree from Wits University, and he is currently enrolled for B.Ed Honors at Wits University as he continues to strive for change. He pleads to all parents to be actively there for their children and nature them.
