On Friday 24 June 2022 in the Nigel area, the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) First Responder Unit, Nigel precinct Officers, and the local SAPS on crime prevention operation, arrested a male suspect, and a variety of narcotics were seized.
Between 10:00 and 13h00 while on foot patrol during the High-Density Operation, the EMPD Officers stopped and searched a suspicious male in his mid 30’s on Main street.
The cornered Nigerian national found opposite the well-known tavern owned 17x packets of crystal meth, a few rocks, packets of nyaope, and 2x half brown tablets, valued at R2700.
The suspect facing charges of possession of illicit substance was marched to the Nigel police station and he will appear in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court soon.
