As the Police shift focuses from community engagement to operational duties, the operational commander of Police in SAPS Katlehong, Lieutenant Colonel Ephraim Shezi, accompanied by a Community Police Forum executive, gathered at Kabelo Primary School (sector one) on Sunday, 10 November together with other civil organization such as Faith-Based Organizations and anti-crime like Yizo-yizo to find ways that will help to curb crime during festive on.
In a full capacity assembly by community members of sector one who came in numbers, shared their concerns, and raised questions where they needed clarity and were delighted by the responses given to them by Lt.Col Shezi. Among the major concerns are druglords that operate within the community.
In conclusion, it was agreed by community members that all sections of the community should intensify their patrols and revert to street committees that will help ease the pressure of the CPF office. Safety tips were then shared at the end, where community members were advised to share stockvel money through bank accounts, and pension or RAF payouts shouldn’t be shared with anyone.
