ActionSA is very worried ’bout how the South African Police Service (SAPS) again went and arrested ActionSA activist Patrica Khoza in Primrose, Ekurhuleni, late Friday night, all because of some shady protection order that was asked for against her by the girlfriend of an undocumented Nigerian, Tony Kadzadi.
This isn’t the first time they’ve pulled something like this against Khoza, especially from folks linked to Kadzadi, ever since she helped get him nabbed for taking over buildings and charging rent all illegal-like in Primrose.
Being a party that sticks to the law, ActionSA is deeply troubled by how things went down leading to Khoza’s arrest. ActionSA Gauteng Premier Candidate, Funzi Ngobeni, is gonna lead a protest on Monday right outside the Germiston Magistrate’s Court demanding Khoza’s quick release. We’re also gonna back Khoza up with legal help to make sure her rights stay protected.
Instead of going after Kadzadi for the serious crimes of sneaking into South Africa and taking over buildings in Ekurhuleni for the past decade, it seems like SAPS would rather go and scare innocent South Africans like Khoza. As ActionSA, we’re not standing for this injustice and we’ll do everything we can to safeguard Khoza and make sure Kadzadi faces up to what he’s done.
We’re asking all South Africans who are worried ’bout lawlessness to join Ngobeni outside the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on Monday. We can’t just let the law get trampled on like this in South Africa. We can’t just sit back and let international crooks take over our justice system.
ActionSA’s been on this case for a while, trying to make sure Kadzadi gets his day in court and Khoza stays safe. We’ve written to the Police, National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Independent Police Investigating Directorate (IPID), and the Minister of Home Affairs to hurry things along. But it seems like no one’s listening to us.
And it’s clear how messed up the Primrose Police Station is, failing to protect the folks living there. The way they’re acting shows how the rule of law is breaking down at police stations all over the place.
We’re sticking to the rule of law, and we’re gonna keep backing Khoza to make sure justice wins out. We’re not giving up on making sure law and order come back to our country and that crime victims get the justice they’re owed.
