BOKSBURG Windmill Park – Little Explorers Daycare, hosted a successful sip and paint event on Mother’s Day, led by the renowned artist, Emmanuel Kaitano, a former curator at Afrodisiac Art Gallery. Kaitano’s vibrant murals adorn preschools and public spaces in Ekurhuleni, and his work has been exhibited and sold internationally, including in Greece, Scotland, Ireland, and Cape Town.
The event brought parents together for a fun-filled afternoon of art and celebration, where attendees were guided to paint seascapes using acrylic paint.
“We wanted to create an event that would allow mothers to relax, unwind, and tap into their creative side,” said Marlene Molefe. The response was overwhelming, and attendees praised the relaxed and inspiring atmosphere.
Kaitano’s unique style and patience made everyone feel comfortable and inspired. The event fostered a sense of community, with mothers bonding over art and leaving feeling relaxed, inspired, and connected. The daycare plans to build on the event’s success, potentially making sip and paint a regular occurrence.
“Creative activities like sip and paint bring numerous benefits, including stress relief, social connection, and a sense of accomplishment,” said Molefe. The event was a huge success in celebrating mothers, providing a unique way to show appreciation for their hard work and dedication. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees praising the relaxed atmosphere and creative opportunity.
“I had a wonderful time, and I’ll definitely be back next time!” said one of the parents.
