The 2025 Rocking Future Career Expos kicked off with a bang at Woodlands College, in Boksburg, on 11 March 2025. The expos are dedicated to helping school leavers choose the best career path, develop their skills, and secure employment in a country grappling with critically high youth unemployment.
Students have found the expos very inspirational and helpful.
Currently, the expos are being held at high schools across Johannesburg’s East and West Rand and KwaZulu-Natal. Already, the expos have visited schools in Cape Town, Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Gqeberha, and will continue through May 2025. Best of all, participation is completely FREE for both students and schools!
The Rocking Future Expos have already reached 231 high schools across Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Gqeberha, and KwaZulu-Natal, distributing 29,423 copies of the Future Guide Magazine. Targeted to matriculants, the magazine is filled with valuable information to educate, motivate, and inspire students as they prepare for life beyond school.
For 24 years, the Rocking Future Expos have been supporting South African high school students in discovering exciting post-school opportunities.
“This can be a very daunting time for students, especially for those unsure of what to do or how to secure a job after school,” said Kay Cheytonov, founder of 3RC.
“Through our career expos, our team, alongside top-tier tertiary educational institutions, helps students explore the available options and identify careers that match their personality, skills, and aspirations.”
In 2024, the expos toured the country for five months, and the results were remarkable. “The level of engagement from students and educators exceeded our expectations,” said Cheytonov.
Additionally, the team has launched a new initiative called Success Starters. All high schools joining the Rocking Future movement this year have been invited to take part in this exciting initiative. Together with 3RC, they will search for an exceptional student to be recognized as the 2025 Success Starter Star.
3RC is on a mission to highlight extraordinary students who show passion and commitment.
The search is on for young entrepreneurs, talented performers, culinary creators, creative artists, sports champions, and tech innovators. 3RC believes these students are the future!
