An inquest docket of rape and murder has since been opened by the Duduza police after the discovery of a five-year-old girl’s body in Duduza
It’s alleged that the little girl was raped and stabbed to death and her body was discovered in an open veld in Duduza on January 1.
The mother, Palesa Mzima hopes that justice will prevail, saying her daughter was murdered painfully.
She mentioned that the suspected person was taken for questioning by the police, but was later released due to lack of evidence.
“When I arrived there, I broke down. My child was lying there lifeless with her clothes full of blood.
“I will remember her as a bubbly and friendly child.
“My child was always happy and never a naughty child,” she said.
Family friend and Duduza resident, Masabatha Buthelezi said, they are shuttered to have experienced such as a community.
She added that they are now in fear and had not expected to experience such.
“Ntombenhle was such a lovely child, ever-loving and friendly.
“She was talkative and smart. I am beyond broken by what has happened. She was a very respectful child,” she explained.
Ekurhuleni district spokesperson Neldah Sekgobela said all role players were called to the scene on the day.
“Police are investigating the case at the moment and are requesting anyone with information to come forward,” she said.
