Ekurhuleni District, subdistrict east, Zone 3: Tsakane: School search and Anti dudula operation

On Wednesday 2022-02-02 Tsakane SAPS together with the Department of Community Safety, school safety coordinator from Gauteng Department of Education, EMPD, EMPD K9, Gauteng Traffic and CPF led by social crime prevention conducted the school search in two Schools Buhlebemfundo Secondary school and Geluksdal Secondary school.
The random search is part of the school safety program which aimed to remove all drugs and dangerous weapons from the schools and to make the schools a safe environment for Educators and learners in order for teaching and learning to take place without any interruption.
One learner was found with alcohol, and dagga was found abandoned.
It came to the attention of the police that learners are mixing a cold drink, cough mixture and allegex together to make an intoxicating substance.
Police would like to advice parents not to let learners to take the medication with them to school unless it is essential for learner to have their medication during school hours but it should be brought to the attention of the Educators.
