Shorts & Shades Empowers the Youth!
Ekurhuleni is buzzing with excitement as the Summer House: Shorts & Shades Experience returns on 29 November 2025, promising not only an unforgettable day of music and good vibes, but also a powerful platform for young and emerging talent.
Hosted by local creatives C-Moody and DJ Ohza, Summer House has become more than just a party. It is fast growing into a youth-driven movement that uplifts, showcases, and empowers up-and-coming musicians who are ready to step into the spotlight.
Set against the scenic backdrop of Rose Petal Farm Lifestyle in De Deur, the festival features a blended lineup of established DJs and rising stars, giving new musicians a rare opportunity to share a stage with some of Mzansi’s most respected names. Performers include: C-Blak, D. General, Fatso 98, Deep Essentials, Mr Shane SA, C-Moody, Ze Ange, Taz Golden, DJ Ohza, K-Lover, Costa Deep, K-Mass (YFM), Ben West, Supreme Socialist, and Twist Musiq.
By intentionally booking young, fast-growing artists alongside seasoned entertainers, the organisers are shaping a space where emerging musicians can gain exposure, network within the industry, and experience performing at a professionally curated event. This makes Summer House one of the few lifestyle festivals in Gauteng that openly invests in youth development within the music scene.
In addition to the music, festivalgoers can enjoy innovative features such as a Hair Cut Barber Station, ensuring artists stay fresh throughout the 12-hour experience, while Urban Edge Radio will broadcast live from the venue, giving rising performers even more exposure to listeners across the country.
Tickets are available on webtickets and start from only R100, making the event accessible to young people from surrounding communities who wish to experience quality entertainment, discover new talent, and be inspired by relatable artists carving their path in the industry.
Summer House proves that when youth are given the stage; they shine. And this year, Shorts & Shades is not just about celebrating summer; it’s about celebrating the next generation of musicians.
