Suspect apprehended, stolen hatchback recovered

On Wednesday, 24 January 2024, at 10:00, officers from the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct successfully apprehended a 24-year-old male suspect, leading to the recovery of a reported stolen motor vehicle.

During routine patrol duties, EMPD officers received information about a vehicle reported as stolen by its rightful owner. Collaborating with other stakeholders, EMPD officers located the stolen green Fiat Palio hatchback parked in the Lillyvale suburb on Grant Road. The individual in control of the vehicle had his rights read to him before being escorted to the Putfontein police station. He is expected to make an appearance at the relevant Magistrate’s Court soon.

The recovered Fiat, linked to a case registered in the Elsburg area, was towed to the police yard in Aeroton for safekeeping
