Two suspects, including the wife of the deceased Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) officer and an alleged hitman, appeared before the Springs Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 21 February.
The case has been postponed to the 27th of February due to further investigations into the case.
The two have been accused of the murder of the EMPD officer, Banele Sikhona who was shot dead outside his tuck shop last month.
It is alleged that the wife orchestrated the murder of her husband.
Both the families of the accused and the victim attended the court session in hope of being eased from the burden.
Speaking to the family of Skhosana, the brother mentioned that they accept the decision taken by the state in hope that justice will be served at the end.
MK party, Bonginkosi Mtswenr mentioned that the loss of Officer Skhosana has left a huge gap in the East Rand community as a whole.“We have lost a front liner, a person who was dedicated to serve his community, this has not only impacted the family alone but Ekurhuleni as a whole. Justice needs to be served in honour of Banele,” said Mtsweni.
