A seventeen year old Alina Kwacha, a Grade 10 learner at Mkhabela High School, continues to shine in the local music scene as she releases her second Afro-pop and gospel single titled Jesu Wam. The new track will be released at the end of this month under Stebie Records, owned by Smezi. Signed under Stebie Records, Alina is fast becoming one of the promising young voices in Afro-pop and gospel music. She first captured listeners’ attention with her debut single “Wena Wedwa” (Alina & Smezi feat. H Flow), which received national airplay and positive feedback. “I’m happy for the people of South Africa who supported me on my first single,” Alina said. “I also thank SABC radio stations and others who continue to play my song.”
Her upcoming single “Jesu Wam” is a heartfelt expression of her gratitude and faith. “My new song will be dropped at the end of this month,” she explained. “I thank my producer, H Flow, who believes in me, and Palisa, who always believes in my voice. I want to thank God for everything He has done for me and for my fans to find praise through this song.” Alina’s debut single received airplay on more than 150 radio stations across South Africa, an achievement that took her by surprise. “Honestly, I didn’t see this coming,” she said. “H Flow always advises me never to give up and to keep recording new music for people. Palisa, who is Smezi’s partner, guides me about life and helps me with songwriting.”
Despite her growing success, Alina remains committed to her studies. “I record on Sundays, and during the week, I focus on my books and school,” she said. The young singer has already performed at three major events across Ekurhuleni and Mpumalanga, and she has a number of radio interviews lined up after her exams. “People can follow me on social media as : Alina O’Cute Kwacha for updates and new music,” she added.
