On the 24th of December 2024 – The Given ‘The Giver’ Foundation, a non-
profit organization dedicated to empowering underprivileged communities, did a special collaboration with the award-winning gospel artist, Reverend Benjamin Dube.
Together they visited a family in Daveyton whose circumstances have left them in
desperate need of assistance.
This heartwarming initiative saw the foundation and Reverend Dube extending their compassion by donating essential food supplies to the family. The visit shed some light on the struggles faced by many families in similar circumstances in South Africa and aimed to inspire hope, raise awareness, and foster community support.
Founder of the foundation, Mr. Given Muhlari, expressed his commitment to making a meaningful difference.
“Our mission has always been to uplift and empower those in need. This partnership with Reverend Benjamin Dube reflects the spirit of giving and community. By joining hands, we are not just providing food—we are providing hope and showing that no one is forgotten,” he said.
Reverend Benjamin Dube, known for his impactful ministry and music, shared his thoughts on the collaboration.
“I am happy to join the Given ‘The Giver’ Foundation in this mission, we need to be on the ground, giving back to communities”
The family was overwhelmed by the special visit from the Reverend and the foundation.
“Christmas really came early for us and I will be forever grateful for the donation. I can’t help but cry when I see the excitement and joy in the eyes of my children,” expressed the mother.
When Ekurhuleni News spoke to Lettie Makgalo (neighbour), the lady behind the success of this impactful donation, she mentioned that it was about time for the family to be rescued.
“I didn’t give up reaching out to the foundation, I had hope that they will eventually respond and God made it possible and today we are here. I am thankful to them and may their pockets never dry out,” she said.
