The Nest Day Care & Crèche hosts a graduation ceremony

By Palesa Ndinisa
The Nest Day Care and crèche, founded by Roseline Visagie held its graduation ceremony on the 6th of December 2025. In attendance were a number of 13 pre-schoolers and their guardians where the principal graciously conveyed a welcome message to all guests and graciously expressed her gratitude for their presence.
The Nest Day Care & Crèche is situated in, Delville, Germiston, housing and nursing a number of 45 children in total. With three Early Childhood Development practitioners, the Daycare supervises and takes good care of children between 6 months to 6 years. With infant and toddler care experience, teacher Fortunate Mamvura surely remains a true passionate advocate for early childhood development. Teacher Roselyn Merlyn Jesvonte Frans, who teaches grade RR undoubtedly has captured the hearts of her pre-schoolers, and Roelien Janine Mashinini has also achieved a remarkable success in the grade R category as a teacher.
Speaking to the founder and principal, Roseline Visagie, the devoted and impassioned ECD practitioner shared that the pre-school was established in 2009 after she discovered how many children were unsafe in most communities. “We actually had a lot of children attending our crèche before COVID-19, but things went downhill for most people after that. I cannot stress it enough that our main aim is to get children out of the streets and home. We want to keep them safe from all the violence children go through. We are very passionate about the upbringing and development of our children. We teach them, feed them, play with them, love them and parent them. It is heartbreaking to see so many children not have a proper early childhood development education and experience because it definitely does affect them when they get to school. Our children get here at 6am to 6pm, so we have a strong relationship with them and we know all their needs; as different as they are. I encourage parents to send their children to preschool. It really does have a positive impact on a child’s life,” amiably expressed Visagie.
5-year-old Presley Mujati, read a heartwarming letter to his classmates- wishing them a bright future ahead. “To my fellow graduates, may your future be bright, may your dreams be fulfilled and may your passion for learning be unbreakable. May you grow into compassionate and responsible individuals equipped with the skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in the world. To our teachers, thank you for your timeless efforts, your patience and your unwavering support,” courteously spoke Mujati. Pamela Manangazira, a mother to one of the graduates also conveyed her appreciation for the teachers at Nest Daycare & Crèche for bettering her daughter’s development as she was experiencing speech delay. “My child has been here for two years and I noticed improvement within 3 months. She’s now confident, energetic and inquisitive. She couldn’t communicate properly but thanks to teacher Nina, I now live with a radio in my house. I’d recommend anyone to bring their child here, there’s progress,” attested Manangazira in a witty manner.
Fees are R950 from 6 months to 6 years of age and the operating hours are from 6am to 6pm on weekdays. The fees are inclusive of breakfast, lunch, and a 2-hour snack break. Aftercare services are also available at a fee of R600 to primary school pupils who need homework assistance, especially in the Afrikaans subject. One of the sponsors of the graduation ceremony was Avbob, offering fresh spring water to guests. The Youngage Foundation donated school shoes, burgers and juice while Royal Revival gave the graduates hair products.
Donations are welcomed in a form of funds, outdoor and indoor toys, stationary, tables or chairs suitable for a preschool, or food.
“If we could get any form of sponsorship or donations our prices would decrease. We want our children to also have proper nutrition to help their growth. However, because our aim is to keep our children safe, I am open to housing children whose parents cannot afford the whole amount of our fees,” humbly concluded the principal, Roseline Visagie.
