Sizabantu Youth Development is a non-profit organisation , located in Kwa-Thema, Springs. In 2019, Bafana Mbonani founded the group. It was established by Bafana Mbonani and registered with the Department of Social Development in April 2022.
The NPO’s mission is to address social issues that communities and young people encounter daily and to bridge the gap.
“I started this organisation in early 2022 when I found two girls who were interested in NPO. I tried to engage with them about this NPO how we are going to work and what it will be based on. That did not happen they left me alone during the year 2022,” Bafana Mbonani explained.
Bafana witnessed the difficulties that people and young people in communities faced, including lack of resources (such as a library, community sports facilities, and a hall), poverty, unemployment, a lack of skills, and violence.
The three main areas of emphasis for Sizabantu Youth Development are development, sport, and art & culture.
According to the government statute, the NPO serves all of South Africa, but for the time being, its primary emphasis regions are Kwa Thema, Tsakane, Duduza, Springs, and even the informal settlement.
Because of their foundational document, the Constitution, they target the youth, the elderly, and everybody else who is in need.
“We still have not started anything because of funds, volunteers, and board members,” said Bafana Mbonani.
The NPO is in need of volunteers and board members; anyone who is interested can get in touch using the following information:
