Thembisa comedy duo set offer a great laugh

Anele Mazibuko and Vusi Qwabe have joined forces to become the next big thing in the local comedy. Regardless of their age difference, Anele Mazibuko and Vusi Qwabe from Thembisa joined forces earlier this year to become a formidable comedy duo.
Mazibuko became interested in comedy in April after meeting Qwabe. Combining their names the duo became known as AneleVusi. Qwabe saw great skills from Mazibuko while the two were painting at church for the Easter Holidays.
“Mazibuko’s family, especially his mother, has always supported his ventures. Every time we want to shoot the content she always avails herself to ensure that our skills and passion for amusing communities do not go to waste,” said Qwabe.
He added that his greatest achievement was to discover a young man passionate about telling jokes and chose to mentor him, always advising him not to stop making people laugh.
Qwabe said being a comedian in this generation is never easy. It takes guts and courage to pursue a career in the industry.
“Not everyone will find you funny, not every gig or joke will be successful. Standing out in a crowd in this industry can be hard to overcome. First, you need to stay original to be able to establish material and fresh ideas.”
“As a comedian, you need to develop a thick skin, and learn to handle criticism and hecklers with grace and humor. Networking and collaborating with other comedians, writers, and industry professionals is vital in order to stay inspired and learn from others. It helps one to stay authentic to their voice and their craft.”
The duo is working on establishing a branded clothing line called ANELEVUSI (hhayi ngathi akuyenzakalanga kahle).
The two will release their comedy skits on social media soon. And their music and brand clothes advert.
“I want to let people know that starting from scratch is not an issue, take the stand, try out new things and see where they will take you.
“People can expect a lot from us. We wish to expand our brand, have shirts, and television commercials and continuously remain entertaining to our followers,” said Qwabe.
“I want to thank my church the place of hope for blessing us and bean musiq and Zama mofokeng and doctor mnaka mobile shop.”
