The intention of the March, led by ANC women’s league, on the 03rd of May was to lodge the complains faced by the community in ward 99, which included corruption and unsolved cases, such as Dimakatso Mofokeng’s, a 27-year old who was found in Telong African dish, raped and murdered.
This March was to push the Dawn park police station to do their due diligence as community protectors.
The memorandum handed to Dawn park police station was received with the following petitions:
- Insuffiency in dealing with Gender based violence. They highlighted the GBV events; 1st of January 2022, two bodies of young woman were found in open field along Barry Marais road
On the 28th of April 2025, a body of a 27 years woman was found in Villa Liza.
2.Delays in attending cases and unattended cases
3.Lack of accountability to the community of ward 99.
ANC women’s league and Villa Liza community says enough it’s enough, Danw park police station must do their job.
