Duduza resident Orlando Movane who is 29 years of age gained a passion for drawing in 2016 when he realised he had potential and great ability to draw.
He is a multi-talented and artistic individual who finds inspiration in drawing.
He best describes himself as a creative mind who communicates ideas, emotions, and narratives through art by employing a variety of mediums and techniques to express his visions.
“My responsibility is to create, manage, and promote art in the community and to a broader market. I have drawn some of the most well-known people such as the late Ricky Rick, a drawing of the late AKA as well,” he said.
“I wish there was a way for me to give their families these paintings, in honor of their recognition and continuous contributions into the music industry. They are legends even after death, they remain unforgotten and forever recognised,” he said.
Movane said he started drawing when he was in Grade six, he expressed his emotions on paper through pictures.
“I draw because it is my passion, it is what I love to do, and it motivates me. My art further provides a distraction from life’s problems.
“Growing up, I used to draw animations on paper, I communicated unsaid words on paper and it helped me grow and learn to take art seriously as my ability,” Movane said.
He furthermore added that he started taking his craft seriously in 2016 because he knew it was the only way he could do the one thing that he loves most.
“It is also a great way to make an extra income,” he said.
He further added that he does not regret unlocking this level of greatness in the art industry.
“I am happy with my work, my growth, and what is yet to come. My only duty is to forever create pieces that may serve aesthetic, conceptual, or social purposes, often reflecting personal perspectives or commenting on broader cultural themes,” he added.
Movane does not only explore his creative side through drawing but he also modifies shoes according to his client’s requirements.
