Through the dedication of Vosloorus SAPS Detectives, a suspect of two counts of attempted murder Minelisi Mlamuli Dube, was sentenced to 20 years of direct imprisonment on each count.
This resulted from an incident that happened at Ext 8 Vosloorus in January 2024, whereby the above mentioned suspect shot the complainant and his fiancee while trying to hijack them with his two other accomplices. The complainant managed to drive away and get medical attention together with his fiancee.
After being released from the hospital one day when the complainant was at a Tarvern around the area of the incident he managed to identify the suspect and called the Police. The suspect was arrested and refused bail. He appeared several times at Vosloorus Regional Court until he was found guilty on 2025-02-05.
The guilty verdict was motivated by the fact that the Detectives, Court, and Complainant went back to the crime scene to reconstruct the incident to the positive convincing of the Court.
The suspect was then sentenced on 2025-02-12 by the Vosloorus Regional Court to 2 x 20 years of direct imprisonment. The Case was investigated by Sgt Ntombi Shimange(Photo attached) assisted by Sgt Katekani Sarila, Sgt Noel Mavundhla Sgt Basani Nkuna.
