WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION AFFECTING ALBERTON AND SURROUNDING AREAS

The City’s water technical teams are working around the clock to repair the damaged steel pipe crossing under the R556 provincial road, which has affected the water supply to some parts of Alberton. We are closely monitoring the supply of water to all affected communities to ensure that their water needs are met.

In an effort to minimize the impact on affected communities, we have deployed Jojo tanks, roving water tankers and activated hydrant taps. Affected members of the community are encouraged to make full use of these interventions.

The City will work tirelessly to ensure that full water supply to the affected areas is restored by Tuesday afternoon, 5 April 2022, if all processes proceed as planned.

The City thanks customers for their patience and understanding during this tough time, and apologises for the inconvenience caused.
