The residents of Tsakane in Extension 19 (Ekurhuleni) have been waterless from last week Wednesday (14 July) till to date.
“If you don’t have water, you cannot do anything,” said Sibongile Zikalala.
She added, saying that the worst part is that no one pre-alerted them about this dire situation that they are facing because they could’ve prepared for it.
Now the area is receiving water through truck-water tanks on shift basis, but the community members are still not satisfied because they have to travel long distances, only to find long queues at the water points.
“I think it is not fair on anyone especially on our old citizens and I hope by the end of this week we will have water running on our taps,” Sibongile expressed sadly.
