A successful entrepreneurship filming Summit hosted by Writer/Production/ filmmaker/ Actress and Author Mpumi Solani with Lindiwe Kunene Author, launching her book Becoming a Godly Woman, interviewed by Scriptwriter Coach Cathy. The conversations led were about the journey of experiencing pain, learning about forgiveness to the healing process and to finally becoming Authors. Mpumi talked more about the creative initiative she has taken for the book from Victim to Victor to be filmed by a production film and cast that is from KwaTsaDuza. The event was held at Kwa Thema Skills School from 8 to 10 August 2024.
The community members of KwaThema, Tsakane and Duduza took it upon themselves to attend this Women Become Film summit to showcase and resurface their hidden talents. Children as young as 8 years of age, unemployed talented youth to the elderly members all with different gifts from singers, poets, actors, dancers and writers came to audition, grasp and learn as much as they can about filming.The workshop programme director Siyabonga Ndlozi Writer for Film and TV, invited giants and well known thespians such as Daniel Hadebe(Actor for Film and TV) Nicho Ratau(TV Channel Owner), Tyron Hanyane( Filming Business), and Ezekiel Joseph(Film Maker) in the film industry to educate, coach and how treat filming as a business.
Host of Women Become Film Summit Mpumi Solani said, ‘’my intention about this project is to protect, support, and nurture the talent in a boy and the girl child in our communities now when they are still young’’. She further encourages youngsters to not despise small beginnings as she urges them to come participate and be a part of her filming project, that she is working on towards to fulfil a bigger vision of creating a KwaTsaduza creative theatre and a production film for this community.
Lindi Kunene Author also embraced the event with her godly presence and uplifted all the women and celebrated Women’s Day while launching her amazing book Becoming A godly Women. A book that is inspired by her life story that could enlighten both women and men about forgiveness, healing, teaching and living a life of a Godly woman.’’ Women delight in another woman’s success, delight in another person’s joy. You will receive your joys when the time is right as well, said Lindi.
In closing of the event Mpumi shared her sentiments about how excited and humble she is by the support she has received from the community. She also urges other artists to come and attend the upcoming filming workshops as they will continue until they build the KwaTsaduza creative theatre dream for this community.
